Apple enters the collaborative work space with iWork for iCloud

No one would deny that Apple's iWork suite of pages, numbers and keynotes has been a solid product since it was upgraded three years ago into a reliable and visually appealling productivity suite.

A great option for home users and students which was more cost effective than Microsoft Office and looked better than Google Docs.

Today Apple have upped the Ante with iWork for iCloud which essentially takes the simplicity of Apple's productivity suite and adds the capacity to work on documents from the browser and also work collaboratively on a document from a mac or PC.

This feature has long been available through Google Doc's / Apps, and more recently office 365.

It will be interesting to see where this leads,  This is one area of the Market in which Apple has a minority market share behind Google Docs and Microsoft Office and could be a huge incentive for students and teachers as iWork now ships free on all new Apple devices.
