Which countries pay teachers the most for their time?
This chart from the futurejournalismproject compares teachers salaries around the world to hours worked during the week. As an Australian teacher I have generally felt as though teachers are well paid for their work, most definitely in comparison to nurses for example. I would love to see how this graph compares to international literacy and numeracy levels to see how the academic results compare internationally.
I have taught in both the U.S, United Kingdom and obviously Australia and all three of these countries go about education in a very different manner. I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether you feel as a teacher you are reasonably paid for your efforts.
