This is a great and simple tool to show how the cost of living has changed from year to year.  You simply enter your birth year, or any year for that matter and it will give you a graphical representation of how essential items such as housing, fuel, coffee and electricity have changed.

Your students could use this when working out percentages and ratios or simply comparing generational differences.
